A lot of people have been asking me lately why I am going to Japan, I guess these are mostly people who aren't into cars, because everyone that is understands exactly why...  

I've realized that it is difficult to explain to people why, and I just usually say that I am interested in their culture and interested in the automotive scene.  My answer hardly captures why I am really going, maybe I can't even answer that fully myself, having never been there before.

 Needless to say, watching this short video from the guys at Maiham really caught me...  I still don't think you could ever just show someone an 8 minute film and say to them, this is why I am going to Japan, but this is certainly as close as it gets for me personally.

I see one of my personal cars (s2000) in a very similar way.  That car is my Le Mans car.  It is beautifully useless.  I can't leave it anywhere, it doesn't have windows or door locks, its quirky, doesn't always like to start or idle.  I live far away from any circuits, I don't have a truck and trailer, but I can still drive it on the street.  

Seeing these guys run on the street, it's an extremely relatable thing for me....
